• By 2010, 18 million children in Sub-Saharan Africa will be orphaned by AIDS (UNICEF).

• In Western Kenya, government statistics show an increase in infectious diseases and malnutrition.

The Tropical Institute of Community Health and Development (TICH) is working hard to reverse these statistics. By donating to TICH's Endowment Fund, you will directly and immediately impact people living in extreme poverty in Western Kenya.

The Endowment Fund is used to build TICH's new campus in Kisumu, a prerequisite to receiving full university status from the Kenyan Comission of Higher Education. In addition to classroom instruction, TICH's rigorous curriculum provides hands-on training in the management of operations that feed orphans, improve agricultural production and educate Community Health Workers.

TICH needs your books. TICH's library is more substantial than most in Kenya, but we want it to be on par with universities of the North. TICH students need and deserve access to the latest published books covering public and community health, medicine and development. While TICH's focus is on books from these fields, we also know the importance of literature and other fields of study. Donated books carry the names of those who donated them.

TICH is also pleased to receive research materials on CD or DVD. Those can be mailed directly to Just One Voice at the address below. TICH is also building an online library of reference and research materials. If you have relevant publications to share via email, send those to: info@justonevoice.org.
