Sat., Sept. 6, 2008 - Poverty and Promise Book Release Party
Location: Williams-Payne Heritage House
135 Hilderbrand Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328
Time: 5pm – 8pm
You are invited to a party in celebration of the publication of Poverty and Promise: One Volunteer's Experience of Kenya! The author, our very own Cindi Brown, chronicles her journey as a volunteer living and working in rural Kisumu, Kenya, as marketing adviser to the Tropical Institute of Community Health (TICH).
The event will be held at the beautiful Williams-Payne House in the heart of Sandy Springs. Please come and hear about Cindi's experiences in Africa and learn how the loving, wonderful and struggling people in Kenya survive while living in extreme poverty, but who also have the promise of hope through people like me and you working with non-governmental organizations, such as TICH and Just One Voice.
Come meet and mingle with friends and family and enjoy shopping for handmade African goods provided by Ten Thousand Villages. Enjoy good food, wine and African drum music (you can even test your drumming skills!) as we listen to Cindi's volunteering adventures and discover how one voice can make a difference. 100% of the book's proceeds assist the neediest villagers in Western Kenyan.
Poverty and Promise can be ordered through the Just One Voice website, www.amazon.com, Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com), and www.booksamillion.com. Books will also be available for sell at the party. Please forward this invitation to your friends or family members who may be interested in attending. We look forward to seeing you there!
